Introduction

Compare COMSATS University programs, NTS-NAT admission rules, Lahore campus fee examples, campuses and scholarships for 2026.

COMSATS University Islamabad is a federal public-sector university with campuses and programmes across Pakistan. It is widely considered by students seeking computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, management sciences, mathematics, biotechnology, environmental sciences, architecture and other applied disciplines. Because fee tables and available degrees can differ by campus, applicants should treat the selected campus as part of the decision.

Academic options and campus fit

COMSATS offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in computing, engineering, sciences, business, design, humanities and related fields. A student comparing Islamabad, Lahore, Wah, Abbottabad, Attock, Sahiwal, Vehari or other campuses should check programme availability, laboratories, hostel access, transport and local living costs. The same university name does not mean every campus has the same course range or facilities.

Published Lahore campus fee examples

The COMSATS Lahore fee page lists a one-time admission fee of PKR 27,000 and a registration fee of PKR 7,000 per semester. Its published first-semester examples show total tuition and registration of PKR 166,500 for computer sciences, PKR 176,500 for engineering, PKR 183,500 for architecture and design, and PKR 148,500 for management sciences. Adding the one-time admission fee produces approximate first-semester totals of PKR 193,500, PKR 203,500, PKR 210,500 and PKR 175,500 respectively.

The page also states that undergraduate and master's programmes use a per-credit-hour fee of PKR 6,000 for additional semesters and that a PKR 10,000 degree fee is charged upon completion. These are Lahore-campus published figures and may be revised in later semesters or differ at another campus, so the current challan should be checked before payment.

Admission requirements and NTS-NAT

COMSATS admissions are merit-based and are offered in Fall and Spring intakes where programmes are available. The Lahore admissions portal states that undergraduate applicants use the NTS-NAT route, while the university's FAQ lists subject categories such as NAT-IE for Pre-Engineering, NAT-ICS for ICS, NAT-IM for Pre-Medical and other categories for general science, arts or commerce. Many undergraduate programme pages state a minimum 50% in Intermediate or equivalent and a minimum 50% NTS-NAT score, but the exact requirement must be checked for the selected degree.

The published merit explanation for BS programmes uses academic record and NTS performance, with one official campus page showing 10% matriculation, 40% intermediate and 50% NTS test weighting. Weighing can be updated, so use the current admission notice for the intake rather than relying on an old formula.

Scholarships and planning

Students should examine university scholarships, HEC schemes, provincial assistance, need-based support and campus-level financial-aid notices. Prepare the NTS result, CNIC or B-Form, academic certificates, photographs, domicile or equivalence documents and the paid application challan before the deadline. A valid NTS score can be valuable, but it does not guarantee admission because the final merit depends on the applicant pool and programme demand.

Important: Rankings, deadlines, eligibility rules, tuition, taxes, hostel charges and scholarships can change. Always confirm the latest notice and fee voucher on the university's official website before applying or paying.
